TORCH 5 Panel (IgM)

TORCH 5 Panel IgM is a panel of tests that screens for infectious diseases including Toxoplasmosis, Rubella, Herpes and Cytomegalovirus infection.

This test is ordered if you are exposed to certain infectious diseases or become ill while pregnant; or when the newborn shows any signs suggestive of such infections including mental retardation, deafness, heart defects, cataract, or jaundice. Early detection and treatment helps in prevention of complications in the newborn.
